It’s a New Year

It’s a New Year.
Forget the resolutions. They usually go unfulfilled or are, at best, short-lived.
Think more about creating a sustainable lifestyle that supports your physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Skip jumping on a bandwagon.
Forget the diet. Learn how to eat for life.
Forget 5 days a week at the gym. Nobody starts, and stays, there. Think about moving your body in a way that makes you feel good. Think about whether or not you will still be able to do that activity in 1 year, or 10. A few walks a week go a long way, especially if you are usually on the couch. And if you don’t like moving, do it anyway. Like when you used to take Robitussin cough medicine as a kid. Because it would make you feel better. Maybe it did. Maybe it didn’t. Moving will serve you in the long run – even if you hate it.
Identify a lifestyle goal.
Break that goal down into baby steps.
Take a baby step.
Plot out a series of baby steps on a calendar. Maybe even pick a launch date. That’s how you change your health. And your life. Slowly and steadily.
Do less. Hold your stake in the ground for the things that matter the most to you. And most importantly, listen to yourself. Don’t dismiss what you know to be true because someone else says otherwise. Hold your power. Change. Grow. It’s what we are here to do.
Love and light,
